Wax Philosophic

Thunder Bay is Fly

Today I'm reppin' TB after someone introduced me to the group Wax Philosophic.

www.myspace.com/waxphilosophic

I've noticed two things over the last couple days:
1) myspace bio's on artists all sound the EXACT same (with the exception of tomorrow's entry) and
2) I've been feeling music that's a little bit more "out there" these days. Well, today is no different.

Wax Philosophic definitely isn't going to be for everyone, and they admit it on their site, saying that they don't really fit in a category (Conscious, Hardcore, Boom Bap, etc.) They actually sound like they have a flow from Quebec a bit to me, but it's true that I can't think of another group like them. Anyways, some will like them, some won't.

My pick for them is DEFINITELY "Scream". From the second it comes on the beat bumps, reminiscient of Ghost World by PSC.Luckyiam, with a sampled female vocal that hasn't been pitched past 20 (thankfully). The flows are on point and force you to nod your head.

Anyways, as always, check them out!
